Players’ ability and inability to change certain behaviors is truly fascinating. Researchers Prochaska and DiClemente studied how people change addictive and health behaviors. They found that individuals experience several stages while going through the process (i.e., precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance).
Changing behavior is not easy and it becomes tougher as we age. It is crucial to teach things correctly from the beginning when one is more adaptable and open to change. Some players could have been much more successful if their behaviors were shaped when they were young.
